About SSAS Alerts
The Ship Security Alert System (SSAS) is an emergency notification system that alerts designated contacts when activated onboard.
Podium supports various hardware types for SSAS services including the following:
- Inmarsat-C (INM-C)
- IsatData Pro (IDP) SSAS systems. e.g. DSAS MKII / Seaguard V4 SSAS
- Lars Thrane LT-3100S GMDSS
- BlueTraker Arctic
- Active SSAS alerts appear in the header, Fleet page, SSAS tab, and vessel detail pages.
- SSAS alerts automatically notify configured Contacts - this can be via either Email or SMS. You can review the contacts via vessel Full Details -> Tracking & SSAS.
Please feel free to contact Support via support@polestarglobal.com to configure SSAS-compatible hardware terminals in Podium.

Additional Information:

- Test notifications include the word “Test” to distinguish them from live alerts.
Test mode expires automatically after the set duration, or you can manually select Deactivate Test Mode to end early.
Resetting SSAS Alerts
Note: Distributors can reset SSAS via their Distributor Account
After an SSAS alert is received:
- Navigate to Fleet → SSAS.
- Locate the vessel with the active alert.
- Select Reset Alert - this will reset the Vessel Status within Podium.
For INM-C terminal types, resetting the alert status in Podium will not be enough. Upon successful testing:
- Instruct the crew to reset the alert onboard using the applicable terminal procedure.
- Once reset, select Reset Alert in Podium.
For other terminal types, they will not require an onboard reset such as INM-C. All that is required is:
- Select Reset Alert in Podium to send a remote reset command.
- The alert status clears from all displays after successful reset.
